Batting Cages

Nets are made of UV treated black polyethylene, with full rope borders in all edges.

Frame Corner Fittings are made of welded steel 1-1/2" diameter tubing, zinc plated for corrosion resistance.

The tubing to be used is 1-3/8" diameter galvanized fence tubing, also known as "top rail" tubing. It is the most commonly used type of galvanized tubing there is, used for the top rail on chain-link fences. It is readily available in lengths of 10-1/2 feet at stores like Home Depot and Lowes for about $8-9 per tube. (This tubing is also available in 21 foot lengths.) Purchase   (8) frame fittings ($15 each) from BATA: $120
Purchase   (4) diagonal braces ($12 each) from BATA: $48.
Purchase (12) 10-1/2' x 1-3/8" diameter tubes from Home Depot: $102.
Purchase   (6) 21' x 1-3/8" diameter tubes from Home Depot: $102.
                      Have them cut to 18'8" each.

Our batting cage frame kit can be made to fit any size of net. Since the 1-3/8" tubes are available in longer lengths, the frame can be made larger by just getting longer tubes and cutting them to size. The standard 10' 6" tubes can also be linked together because each tube has one swaged end.

Ten feet can be easily added or subtracted from the length by adding or eliminating one section. Vertical and cross members may also be spaced more than 10-1/2 feet apart to reduce material cost. As few as (8) fittings may be used for a 60' cage.
